Takes the cake
Even with a low budget and cheesy special effects even at the time, this movie is one of the most disturbing films around.

shareI feel like its the product of a less jaded era and must've packed a harder punch back in the day, pre 'torture porn', the Web and all the other extreme horror flicks now that delve to a level of human darkness i would've never thought permissible on-screen. Its sort of amusing that people were so disturbed by it; a big serial killer boom followed in 90's pop culture afterwards. Its not a pleasant movie by any means but i can think of so many other masochistic viewing experiences that crank the nihilism meter harder than Henry does. Its just better made and acted than most of them.
shareDisturbing because there's no hidden agenda or explanation of what drives these people they are who they are, and as viewers we just find their behavior creepy and disturbing. They don't seem especially concerned with jail, and certainly could care less with what the pubic thinks about them at all. Something has always driven me to come back to this film, since I saw it as a young teen.
sharePersonally I find a movie that shows a bunch of people being tortured far less disturbing then the characters portrayed in Henry.
