what a crappy salesman...

The only scene in the movie that's somewhat over-the-top and where you don't feel so bad for the victim is that fat pig salesman, what an a-hole!!!

That scene was so over the top that I sort of giggled when I saw them kill him afterwards. It was like taken out of some stallone-movie or something. I don't think anyone would hesitate to beat the crap out of a punk like that. I sure would've at least treated him really really bad, but like any normal person I wouldn't have killed him.

Anyway that scene maybe wasn't good to put in there because it sort of made you sympathize a bit with the killers. In all the other murders you feel really repulsed by the kilings but in that scene it's more of an "entertainment"-kill.

Any comments? :)

well since you're naked you might as well f___ a friend of mine. Paul come in here!

That guy was pretty obnoxious! At one point Henry is about to walk away but the guy keeps pushing--he wasn't going to let them leave with their $50! I agree that crashing that tv over his head was pretty funny, even moreso when they plug it in!

That part freaked me out although the way Henry told Otis to plug the TV in was rather funny.

I cried laughing at this!
Otis - plug it in.

Hahahaha.
Pure brilliance.

Gotta love a bit of comical serial killing (:

Otis - plug it in.

My favorite line in the whole movie; my brother's too!

That was actually the point. I was watching the special features and they said that it was meant for people to kind of side with the killers for that moment and that you weren't supposed to feel sorry for the salesmen.

I laughed out loud when i saw him, I mean you could totally see what was coming- you'd think though, a guy in that position, selling stolen stuff, you'd think he'd be better prepared-shotgun under his desk, or a pistol or something....this is what all pawn shops have those steel cages now, if they don't have any protection, it's like they're begging badguys to kill them!!

I thought that the Fence character was a pain in the ass too, he was a real jerk and was very rude but he does have his reasons, he was selling stolen property and these two guys come into his garage/shop and want to buy a tv set okay, then they want the other tv sets that are better in quality and ask a lot of questions about other things before finally deciding on just getting the black and white $50.00 set, this pisses the guy off because he wanted to make more money from them and he loses his temper because of it.

But he was being rude for no reason also, asking them if they trusted him when they all know that he is fencing stolen property, making the rude remark about how Otis had some college when he asked about the plug in the wall twice, uncalled for insult, cussing like a jerk when Otis complained that it was black and white, getting impatient with his rant about the camcorder and saying "What else would you do with it" after Otis asked if you can make your own movies with it, the technology was new in 1985 for that and a lot of people would not know about it yet, so asking a question is not a stupid thing.

His doom comes when Otis mentions that they were not planning to spend a lot of money and just wants a tv, then he asks which one and Otis says the fifty dollar one, after that the guy repeats it sarcastically and goes off on his rant again saying "The fifty dollar one!, you guys come in here and i show this, i show you that, and you creeps got a lousy fifty dollars to spend?! You guys should have stopped me a long time ago, take the fifty dollar set and get the hell out i'm a busy man!" then Henry says that "Well we were really counting on a color set." and the Fence seals his doom by yelling at Henry "Whats the matter you got sh@t in your ears?!The black and white is fifty dollars take it or leave it" and Henry decides to leave without buying anything because he is pissed off and his face drops into a look of barely controlled rage after this remark.

Then the Fence orders his own death by threatening Henry and Otis directly, Dont give me sorry you dumb ass! Did i stutter?! Give me the fifty dollars and get out!" Indicating that he was going to take their money even if they decided not to buy anything, oh and he did not even have a guy or weapon present with him at all either, yet he was still stupid enough to try to threaten two big guys into giving him what little money that they had, then does not consider the fact that he is working all by himself in that garage and that they might attack or kill him and leave with his own property.

The Fence was an arrogant bastard and a low level criminal himself, if he was selling stolen property in his warehouse how could he ever call the police and report it if he was being robbed? How could he threaten random guys with violence or rob them and get away with it if he didnt have a gun? Why would he be rude and threaten his criminal customers who could attack him or turn him in to the Police and have him get arrested and go to jail?

The guy was an A-Hole and deserved to die for being stupid, if he had been friendly and polite he would have lived and continued to make money, but his rudeness and threats of violence and robbery caused him to offend a Serial Killer and his best friend, both of whom were small time criminals and had already killed before, not a good idea, the Fence obviously assumed that both Otis and Henry were stupid because of the way that they acted and talked to him, yet he never considered how dangerous these two guys might actually be and that caused him to get himself killed, a stupid and dangerous mistake to make and in this case his last and fatal mistake, now he has hell to look forward to.
