For years when I was growing up in the 1970's we had a big wooden floor console TV with a smaller portable sitting on top of it. Finally when my parents redecorated they gave the console to my cousin. He removed the tube and all the guts, and placed a smaller TV INSIDE of it. He still had that TV in his living room until about 10 years ago.
That's hilarious. My Grandma had the same thing when I was a kid. It was a huge wooden floor TV with a record player under a hinged lid on the left side of the TV, and an 8-track tape player on the right hand side. I wonder whatever happened to that thing? haha
