Brilliant 80s Horror, not for likely truth of Henry

Really the enjoy the somewhat mundane day to day horror of this film.

True crime fan so realise how far this strays from the truth, but this difficult to know anyways with any true crime case as victims and murderers aren't always reliable witnesses, especially Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole, both clearly manipulative some what, perhaps pathological liars and also got fed and kind of pushed into confessions by crooked police. Back to the point, this does not really attempt to follow the true case or the likely truth of Lucas and Tooles crimes, but yet that does not spoil the film, it also has a disclaimer at the opening to also confirm that is not attempting that.

It plays out rather slow with an eerie soundtrack, perhaps now even creepier due the aged 80s soundtrack, but there's something about this film that I really enjoy, the coldness of Henry but who also some set of somewhat morals at times, the craziness dislike ablility of Ottis, extremely creepy and rude and vulgar comments, dirty laugh the complete cliche, the innocence of Becky.

The kills are also rather simple and dark, kind of gritty with an retro realism, especially the use of the cam Corder, which wasn't cliche like modern horrors, apart from one kill with epliments over the top final but is also darkly brilliant. Some corny plastic heads but you gotta love deep down.

Brilliant performances. Definitely a favourite horror of mine.

Which kill did you think was over the top?

I enjoyed the movie. When I met Michael Rooker earlier this month, I mentioned to him that I loved him in it. I told him "You were awesome as a frosty cold serial killer." He thanked me for the compliment. Both Michael and Tom were really creepy in the movie.
