Mine is:
"It's a distortion. Henry, Look at me! Look! You can't see me or anyone as they are! I wanted Dostoyevsky!" - June Miller (Uma Thurman)

My two favorite lines from the film are: 1.) "If *beep* had value poor people wouldn't have asses." 2.) "I wept beacause I would soon be weeping no more."

I wanted to know about the first quote. Is this really a portuguese or brazilian proverb or something? Or is it from Anaïs or what? would anybody be so gently to answer me this, please?

reply

It's really a portuguese proverb - se a merda tivesse valor, os pobres não teriam cu.

"I'd be a well received writer if it weren't for these jokers."

"I wanna be drunk.....and make...you drunk."

"Count Brugor is NOT SPOILED!" *waves fists*

reply

Henry: "She's my f ucking woman"

Anais: "You don't understand your own f ucking woman"

reply

I wanna be drunk
and make YOU drunk
because I'm intimidated by you
and I need to feel free to say anything and know that you'll forgive me

I wanna tell you things so you won't stumble through life...
I've done the wildest things, foulest things
but I've done them superbly
I feel innocent now

Smolder city.

[June late at night in bed with Anais]

June: "I don't know why I keep on thinking of this little Chinese restaurant that Henry and I used to go after I got off work.
He'd wait for me outside the dance hall at two in the mornin'. Then we'd rush through the freezin' cold holding each other tight.
We'd get there just before closing time sit in a booth by the window eatin' chow mein, watchin' the snow swirl by.
There was some kind of unbelievable thrill in the air between us. I feel kinda haunted by it now. Chin Lees. Its funny, it seems like a dream."

It's Cute, How You Think I'm Listening

"Your eyes make me shy".

It' s important not to imagine terrible things...like being impotent from now on.

Oh my gawd, what a thing to say !

You've got me?! Who's got you?!

reply

"abnormal pleasures kill the taste of the normal ones"

It is a story that doesn't justify its realization as a movie. It wasn't fair for a lot of characters, they didn't meet appropriate people.. Unless they are not represented at their entity. It feels like a movie about world war 2 without showing the Americans..

reply

I've done the vilest things - the foulest things - but I've done them... superbly.
