i saw the first one and was impressed by its raw honesty and powerful and harrowing nature. what is the extent of the voilence in this film?

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

It's been a while since I've seen this, I might give it another viewing later this month actually. From what I remember it was more gruesome than the first one; there's another real autopsy performed (on a woman this time), and more graphic experiments similar to the first one, but no animal killings. The film loses the realistic documentry style of the previous film which makes it a little less disturbing though. It's still a good movie that's capable of shocking you a couple of times at least.

It's got none of the gravitas or sombre tone of the first one and is a cheerfully tasteless, shamelessly exploitative, leave yer morals at the door, totally irredeemable we're-gonna-make-money-off-a-war-crime bottom of the barrel filth, so needless to say, I dug it.
Decent production values too. God bless those crazy HK filmmakers.

"Hey, look at that! She's not crazy, she's being chased by a cheetah!"
