Tough to get DVD

Did anyone else struggle with getting this on DVD? I have the SVHS (I know, wow - super vhs) but couldn't get it on DVD until I special ordered it through a retailer. Unfortunately my copy looks like an early CDROM, in otherwords - looks like they simply re-recorded the SVHS onto a DVD - is there a remastered and/or special edition version ???

Here in Japan the Japanese movie channel is showing what it calls a "Digital Remaster" of Ten To Chi To in high definition next month. I'll check that out and see if it looks like a high definition copy of an SVHS tape (they only show a couple of movies each month in HD so I guess someone thinks it looks good).

Which means the film has been remastered at some point and isn't crumbling in a vault someplace, but whether this version's available with English subs outside of Japan yet I dunno.

I found it easily within minutes with a simple Ebay search. I don't know if they still have it since this was over a year ago. Paid like $10-15 for it shipped.

Someone stole my DVD so I downloaded it recently.

It's playing in letterbox on Showtime Extreme this month.
