My thoughts exactly--Denzel was eye candy at that time anyway, and dressed up in those gorgeous suits made him spectacular. (I've always thought clothing is usually sexier than skin.) And I must admit that I also find Hoskins oddly appealing. What is up with THAT?
At the time, Eddie was mainly involved in comedy acting, not so much drama. Although it might seem strange today, casting Denzel in this movie, he certainly fit the part. "Rich, successful, black lawyer to the mob"
Stop using that stupid word "retarded", please. Yes the film's a comedy, but it also has a strong drama coponent to it---like the ending, which is NOTHING life a comedy.
