only Matt Dillon left from the standard characters of the series 1955-75

at the end of the movie, in the lines says "This film is deticated to the memory of our beloved friends and artists Miss Amanda Blake, Stan Hough and writer emeritus Mr. Ron Bishop". Miss Amanda Blake was in the 1987 Gunsmoke movie. But not Ken Curtis. I thought Ken Curtis had passed away by the time this movie (2nd) was made, but he was still alive and acting. So "Festus" could have been in two of the "Gunsmoke" movies.

i walk the floor all night long,
wondering how things managed to go so wrong,
i open up a few more cans,
untill i can't hardly stand,
it's so dark, i let the lights burn,
though the fire looks at me so stern,
i can't let anybody see,
what has become of me,
i better drag myself to bed,
or just fall down on the kitchen floor instead.

I actually would have preferred and loved if Dennis Weaver would have reprised his role as Chester in one of these Gunsmoke movies.

Would have been great for he and Matt to hook up once again.

Agreed, the more I saw of Chester the more I appreciated how good he was.
This movie is the first one I remember Dillion kissing anyone.
