question about the movies ending (possable spoilers)

i just want to know if someone can conferm something that has ben bothering me.

i have seen the scenes on a horror dvd with robert england and bravo's 100 scaeiest movie scenes that was suposed to be the fanale of this movie where this tree woman(the nanny?) was chasing carrie lowell and her baby arround the house and falling apart while the husband was attacking a living tree with a chainsaw.

however i just saw the movie on chiller and this scene is nowhere in the movie and the fanale of the movie shows them leaving the hospital, going back to the house, getting attacked by wolves, he takes the baby into the forest while she runs through the house to loose the wolves, the nanny is at the tree with husband and baby, she gets in truck drives into forrest, hits nanny with truck into pit, go to police, no nanny found, end movie.

what the heck happend? was the scene i saw from another movie with the same cast? was the other scene an unused ending or was the one on tv the unused one cut in because it was less violent? was the movie remade for tv or theaters? am i going crazy ??????!!!!!!

somebody please help me solve this riddle as i have searched all over the web and cannot find the answer.

What you watched was the television version, not the DVD version. Go rent the movie and that scene will be in it.

What DVD is that exactly? "The Guardian" isn't mentioned among Bravo's 100 scariest horror moments.

The dvd the OP is referring to is "Boogeymen: The Killer Compilation", a dvd released in 2001 with clips featuring some of the scariest horror characters of all time. Camilla is one of the characters featured on the dvd and the clip shown is the end confrontation with the mother battling Camilla and the father battling the tree.

Up to seeing this post I had no idea there was even a TV version alternate ending. Interesting.

I own "Boogeymen: The Killer Compilation". Pretty cool DVD. The Guardian did come out to the theaters here in the US. I remember when it came out to the theaters back in 1990. The TV version cuts the gore and added some scenes. I watched parts of it on USA a few years ago.

I saw it at the drive-in as a kid. I'd like to see it again, because at nine years old, you don't grasp as much of a film as you do being an adult. And for those of you who will chastise my parents for letting such a young, impressionable child watch such a frightening film, RELAX.....it didn't give me any nightmares, and I spent most of the next day telling my friends about the "weird tree." The only scene that really scared me was when the wolves broke into the house, but it wasn't really that bad.
I'd like to find this on DVD. though I think it might be difficult purchasing it offline.

We'll see.

I just saw this movie not knowing what it was it was the end of the movie and I saw Wolves I thought it was an obscure werewolf film so I dug it. It also didnt help that my cable information said it was the 2006 kevin Costner movie by the same name lol. So anyway this was on cinemax or encore i forget which, anyway they kept the cool living tree scene as you mentioned it. I thought it was a pretty cool flick druids usually are portrayed as good guys i dig the horror spin of this flick.
