I was grifted by a man.

A man came into the shop where I work and ordered a muffin for 2.97, for which he gave me a 20 dollar bill. As I was counting back his change of 17.03, he handed me another 2.97 and asked if he could exchange it all back for a 20. Without looking, I handed him a 20 and proceeded to count all the change he gave me. In the middle of counting, he interjected that I had only given him a five dollar bill, and that he was 15 short. At this point, I was still counting, and was thoroughly flustered that I could have mishandled a bill. I told him he'd have to wait while I recounted the drawer, but he demanded that I correct his change, since he was in a hurry to leave. I took back his five and gave him a twenty to shut him up, and he went on his way.

It was only later when I was counting the drawer that I noticed I was twenty dollars under. I immediately thought of John Cusack in this *beep* movie, and cursed myself for being such a sucker.
