What is that beautiful song in the end?

This is a nice movie, and I especially liked the ending song with the words "Everything is gonna be allright" Could someone, please, tell me what is the name of the song ?.. cause I really am unable to find it myself :(

Eyes on the prize - the song is contained on the soundtrack of the film

Isn't that a great song?? I ended up getting the soundtrack partly because of that song, but also because of the song George hums. If you didn't get it already, I recommend it. It's a good listen.

"Uh, and that's a problem because??????"

hi. i was watching green card tonight and was wondering if anyone knows the name of the song that George hums? He hums it while Bronte is on her date w/her bf. I heard the song in a dentist office once and almost fell out of my chair wanting to hear what the name was. please email me if anyone knows

The song Georges hums is called "Watermark" by Enya. The soundtrack also contains "River" and "Storms in Africa"...wonderful movie!!

"what's it going to be then, eh?"

reply

"Watermark" by Enya

Thank you so much, I have been wondering for absolutely ages what that song is.... I knew Enya songs were featured in the film but this didn't sound like a 'typical' Enya track and I overlooked it.

This is a LOVELY tune... thank you, you have made me very happy xxxxxxx

wtf that song sucked

I'm really surprised this movie didnt end with a more famous love song, like
"Stand by Me", thats how I always pictured it as a kid, I watched it again the other week and I was really disappointed by the African chanting

You probably already know the title of the song by now, but for all the people with the same question. The song at the end of the movie is called "Storms in Africa" by Enya.

Forgiveness is between them and God. It's my job to arrange the meeting.

Enya's "Storms in Africa" is played over the scene where Georges and Bronte are running through Central Park to attend The Interview. The songs played at the end of the movie are "Eyes on the Prize" and "Pour Bronte" - both are on Hans Zimmer's soundtrack.

I saw it just a few days ago for the first time.. its a really good movie with a soundtrack that fits perfect the picture.

I m looking for the title of a song played several times a.e. in the scene where Bronte's parents arrive and Georges wearing this handyman clothes.

is this song on the Soundtrack???

thanks for any help..

reply

From memory I think it might be the opening bars of Enya's 'Storms in Africa' which is NOT on the soundtrack but on her album, 'Watermark'. If not, then you'll find it on Hans Zimmer's soundtrack. ;-)

I agree it's a nice song, but it is about being homeless. It's not really fitting for the end of this movie. But I do love the song.

reply

Yes, a beautiful song. I thought it was lovely.

Very cool.

The music in the entire film is gorgeous, but I love the additional resonance of "Eyes on the Prize" as the final moment.

It's very meaningful -- it's local music (onscreen) and is this beautiful urban piece that kind of (for me, anyway) encapsulates the meeting of Georges and Bronte. It is both beautiful and lyrical (Bronte) and modern and exciting (Georges). It's a wonderful moment, and to me it really adds to the emotion of that final beautiful scene between the two of them -- both in search of a "perfect home."

I also love the fact that the lyrics mirror the feelings of the characters:

Last night, I had a dream
I found a home, that was so bright
I don't know why it has to be a dream
Why can't I, where will I
God help me, help me find a home

Keep your eyes on the prize
Don't be dismayed, don't be dismayed
Deep in your heart, you must believe
Everything is gonna be all right
Everything is gonna be all right, someday...
