How gory is this film?

I'm not looking for good acting, good plot, or neat plot twists.

Just blood, guts, and violence.

My question is, can I get all that in this movie?

Its NOT the goriest film ever made as these other blokes have pointed out, but compared to the crap horror movies churned out these days, it takes itself less seriously and has some nice gore effects. The gore level is sort of the level of films like "Mimic". Stuff like the giant bat/rat sticking its hooked feet into a human victim, a guy called Cartwright gets his arm bitten off (quite gruesome actually), a guy gets chopped up in a machine (you just see the blood), but my personal favorite is Brad Douriff (in great form here!) getting his head crushed by a coffin! Its cool. Also, the huge bad/rat gets chopped into mince meat in the huge wool machine and its very cool and disturbing ala the death of the newborn alien in "Alien Ressurection". The screaming is very effective. This is an underrated b-movie, but no classic. Have low expectations.

i enjoyed when the black character had his hand chewed off when he rolled around screaming, pieces of it flew off and onto the other actors
