the tough girl got murdered, but I could already sense something's wrong with the script when The Exterminator wastefully got killed like a clutz and a chump. Great setup, really stupid outcome, and good final scene.

i remember seeing this when i was a youngster and hoping the exterminator would come back at the end of the movie to be the hero, because we never actually see him die...

I guess you could say he was there in spirit at the end, since the main protagonist quotes him when he says his final one-liner.
