I wanna see if it's as bad as many said,lol. From reading the script I just mostly laughed at a lot of the stuff. Next Tuesday I'll find out! August 24th!!! It'll be out! I'm actually excited. My mom told she took me when I wuz like 1 2 see it in a drive-in movie so I've seen it but I just don't remember it. I do remember a few years back remember seeing something of Prince & Morris in some brightly lighted alley...lol maybe it wuz from GB..not 2 sure tho. Ah well I'll find out soon.

Oh yeah I think Prince had the entire thing shot inside Paisley Park. Lawds..talka 'bout cheap! LoL it's been years since he wanted 2 do a movie like this he shouldn't have said it wuz the PR Sequel I woulda rather seen a Sequel 2 Under The Cherry Moon: Christopher Tracy's Back! What it is! or rather a Prequel.(I'd like 2 know exactly WHY would Chris & Tricky wanna go 2 the Medit. besides 2 scam money off rich women--had 2 be more 2 that)

I loved it, but one has to admit that it looks like a high-school musical. I bet nobody got paid. At least The other musicians got to be on the soundtrack this time, unlike on Purple Rain. The problem was that it was too preachy and religious
I got the movie on DVD now. I agree with supacoolmario, I didn't have 2 much problem with the movie..IMO I saw it as a simple plot(Good v. Bad) but I think Prince at that time was tryin' 2 mean something more than that...a deep religious plot..& 2 much 2 rack my brain over..other than that I just watched it & enjoyed the performances sorda like a long cheap music video-IMO. People would enjoy the soundtrack better.
P.S. There were some funny parts in the movie mainly involving Morris, Jerome, & Robin.

I saw this movie at the height of my Prince fandom (like 1995, when I was in the 8th grade) and I thought it sucked terribly. It was really fake looking, and the plot about the angel was about the dumbest thing in the world.

Remember The Kid comin' down 2 their club? His entrance beginnin' with a ridiculous scream..call himself gonna do a casual whistle tell'em he wants 2 battle with'em. Monte Moir & fine JJ holdin' on 2 The Kid. LoL JJ clearly chumpin' some gum in that scene.

If u're referring 2 why she wasn't casted in the "so called" sequel 2 PR (GB)..I dunno..no real info givin' on what happens 2 her, of course they did say about Billy & I'm guessin' he died in between the 6 years b/c Morris mentioned somethin' like "In Billy's will.."
Also word was that Kim Bassinger was gonna be in GB but she & Prince broke up around that time.
My guess of what happened 2 Apollonia probably would be she breaks up with The Kid b/c if u see the music video 4 "Sex Shooter" on the PR 20th Anniv. SE DVD disc 2, she's inside a phone booth talkin' 2 him & she argues at him basically sayin' "Why do you always treat me like this?" then she starts speakin' spanish or somethin' like that then slams the phone & says "Damn musicians". Oh yeah & in between all of that there's random clips/shots of Brenda & Susan walkin' with 2 other guys. So back 2 the phone booth scene..Apollonia's lookin' at a picture of The Kid & then she tears it up & throws the pieces on the ground, she bends down either lookin'/pickin' up the pieces until Brenda & Susan show up with the guys..Brenda asks somethin' like "So ya ready?"& 1 of the guys bends down picks up a piece of The Kid's torn picture & says "Leavin' your friend behind?" & AP says "Yeah".
Then just they perform the song Brenda gets jealous b/c the guy she's with gives his phone # 2 AP..& during the perfor. Brenda bites AP's leg. In the end they're cool again b/c AP tears his # up.
Oh..wait..damn that video really almost doesn't tell much. Well my guess is Apollonia leaves Mpls. & probably moves out 2 Hollywood, CA..ya know just tries 2 persue/advance her singing/dancing career out there instead of goin' back 2 New Orleans. & I guess Brenda & Susan comes along too.
