Does this movie make you hungry for a nice Italian meal?

Nothing makes me wanna cook up some sausage heroes, or some pizza than this movie.

reply

I always end up making sausage and peppers when I watch this movie.

That lasagna on the table at Paulies when Henry get's out of prison makes my mouth water every time.

reply

Absolutely!

reply

Just as long as it's not egg noodles and ketchup. That sounds a bit foul.

reply

Egg noodles and ketchup also makes for a nice contrast with the various mouthwatering shots of Italian fooood that we've seen throughout the movie--the garlic being sliced with a razor, the big bloody looking pot of sauce being stirred while Henry is going nuts in the 1980 paranoia scene, the fatty greasy pork sausages being cooked up by fatty greasy old Paul Sorvino near the end. That hadn't occurred to me before...

I loved that line.

Agreed. The sauces make me hungry just thinking about them...even if they were a little heavy on the onions.

reply

I didn't put too much onions. Three small onions. That's all I did.

reply

I do LOVE onions and garlic in my food, even though afterwards I have to gargle to get rid of the aftertaste.

It must have been pure torture for Henry to be out there in the witness-protection program in the Midwest suburbs, eating generic egg noodles, after having grown up with genuine New York Italian cooking. That alone was his punishment for ratting out his pals .

reply

Makes me wanna slice some garlic up nice and thin with a razorblade.

Of all the images in the movie, that one has stuck with me the most.

Anyone here mentions Hotel California dies before the first line clears his lips.

reply

Oh yeah. I eat always Italian for a week after watching this movie.

There is a pizza place, VITO AND MICHAEL'S PIZZERIA--so named in remembrance of the Corleones--close to where I live; watching GF motivates me to be one of its most loyal patrons, as well as a regular consumer of SUBWAY sandwiches.😂
