Karen and the dresses

I've always wondered if Jimmy was sending Karen down the street to be wacked. Was he?
Or was she being as paranoid as she felt Henry was?

reply

It's up to the viewer to decide.

Let me know if I'm on your ignore list.
Thanx!

reply

Yeah but what did the writer and director intend?

reply

Based on what they've shown us, I think Karen was in trouble. I don't know if they'd whack her or maybe just kidnap her to get to Henry. But it wasn't about dresses. Lol

reply

who knows? but she looked very hot in that leather skirt suit.....

reply

It was obvious. Not that i could care.

I thought it was very clear she was about to be whacked. Jimmy could have just handed the dresses to her personally but instead sends her down a dark alley while standing a few yards away. Then we see someone creeping around in there before Karen runs off. Seems pretty clear.

The guys in that dark room were clearly waiting for her, too. They made it a point to stop what they were doing and stand there watching her once she got to the doorway.

I love how it played to Karen and Henry's growing paranoia, though.

And for what it's worth, a recent "20 years later" cast interview confirms that, at least, Lorraine Bracco and Robert De Niro both agree that Karen was about to get whacked. If that's how the actors played it, it's hard to argue they're wrong.
