Anyone agree that Michael gets a raw deal?


He’s basically thrown into a dog-eat-dog world in which the survival of himself and his family depends on him being a ruthless strategist and occasional killer.

He didn’t ask for it, he doesn’t enjoy it, he’s perpetually miserable, he occasionally tries to atone for it but it always backfires. Bear in mind the series is full of villains and psychopaths who are far more malevolent and don’t seem to suffer any of the same anguish.

I mean, what does Coppola want from Michael? Should he just kill himself..?

Coppola probably doesn't want you to think about any of that. But somebody ought to confront him with these facts.
