Why do people assassinate when they know it's a sue aside?

Like when the man of the godfather stabbed the other guy with his glasses, he knew hew won't get out alive.

Or the assassination attempt on Michael when he came out of the concert. He knew he will get caught and he won't see any money because he will be in prison.

And it happened in other cases in the series.

Because it's an order.
Or, because the victim's death is meant to make a significant change or will create a turning point meaning the victim's life is actually worth more than the life of the assassin. It's hard to explain, sorry lol

In the case of Calo (the bodyguard), it's a "Sicilian thing". He was devoted to Don Tommasino and had been for most of his life. He need to avenge the Don's murder meant more to him than his own life. I know it's tough to understand that level of commitment and dedication, but that's what it was.

I'm sure the assassin believed he could, somehow, get away but, even if he couldn't, his reoutation for "never failing" was obviously more important to him than the threat of capture or death.

If, after watching the whole trilogy, you are still asking that question... Well, you didn't get it at all

"sue aside"? nobody else is gonna talk about that?

reply

Hahahah, that is the best "term" I've read all week. Seriously, "sue aside," that is creative... BTW who is this Sue you speak of?

reply

It's pretty funny, I never thought of spelling it like that, lol! I don't know, maybe it was intentional? Because it's just too ridiculous to have been a common spelling mistake.

Same for the guy who killed Hyman Roth in GF2. Right in the airport. Talk about suicide. So many other options.
