Did Coppola remove that very long opera sequence?

Because if he didn't then I have no interest in this directors cut. I always thought the movie was OK but that opera sequence was beyond boring and that should have been the most exciting part of the film.

reply

Considering that's how the movie crescendos, it would've been impossible to remove that sequence. And it is not.

reply

True but he could have changed the music, he could have left the killings in but just replaced the music much like how Lucas did to the end of Return of the Jedi

reply

It's the best scene in the entire trilogy, why would he?

reply

Not even close but either way I don’t mind the scene I just hate opera music

reply

Oh, okay.

reply

Is it still in the film? The killing montages in the first two were epic but that opera music just ruined it in Part III

reply

Dude, you just don't like opera. Neither do I, but I don't go around saying it "ruined" the movie.

reply

When what should have been a very epic sequence is done over opera music for what seemed like 20 straight minutes yeah that did kind of ruin it

reply

Also I didn’t say it ruined the movie I said it ruined that sequence, don’t strawman me again
