How will Sofia's performance be fixed (can it)?

Or at least significantly improved. Will she redub her lines, have some of her dialog cut around or edited more carefully, or some combination of the two? How much of an improvement is realistically possible?

Godfather III sucked, but it wasn't because of Sophia Coppola. IMO, people just attacked her because of nepotism. So what? She was good enough for this turd, and better than Pacino, who seems to have some sort of magic defensive shield around him. No one wants to come out and just say Pacino is a mediocre actor at best. If it wasn't for his lucky casting in the original Godfather, no one would ever hear from him. The story and film were so good that anyone cast as Michael would have been a star.

Alright, calm down there edgelord.

It was supposed to be Winona Ryder but she did Edward Scissorhands instead (in my opinion a good decision on her part). But yeah Sofia kind of sucked. Pacino however I thought was good as always and Garcia also nailed it.

Hooah!

Most of her scenes are left intact.

Francis did remove about 20 minutes of overall material, I believe some of it includes one of Sofia's early scenes but that's about it, most of her performance is left in Coda.

A review I read states that the little pouting scene with her, Al and the actor who plays Anthony was cut short or entirely removed. It's the scene in Sicily where Michael tells Mary that she must stop seeing Vincent and then Anthony chimes in and agrees with their father. So it leads me to believe that they're removing the Vincent/Mary tryst altogether.

I do hope they also cut out the earlier scene between Mary and Michael where she asks him if it's true that she's being used as a "front" for the mafia side of the business.

The incest thing is still there and everybody is still more okay with it than they should be.

When Michael tells Mary to stop seeing Vincent, she barks "No!" and then it cuts to Mary in Vincent's room listening to the Elvis Costello song.

There is a little bit cut out of the "am I a front" scene, but not much.

Wow, so what's the big deal about the re-release again? Did FFC just reorder the sequence of events? I thought perhaps he was going to include more background on the Immobiliare board of directors and the Bishops?

When I first saw the movie in theaters, I was 50/50 in my response to liking it and hating some parts. I thought the Mary/Vincent story was unnecessary and I didn't understand why they just didn't make Sonny's son Frank the subject of inheritance to the throne? In the book, Vincent could not exist because it is clearly explained that his mother had an abortion, so it seems like FFC and Puzo were more interested in rectifying that story line to repent as both are somewhat Catholic. LOL

Why Sofia Coppola Wasn’t Crushed by The Godfather 3’s Brutal Criticisms

Sofia Coppola said she wasn't crushed by the criticisms of her performance in The Godfather 3, even saying the experience made her a stronger artist.

Ever heard Deepfake? They can paste Winona Ryder on her face.

Why not Elliot Page?
