Your favourite scene?

Well, for such a great film I cannot believe how dead these forums are...So I thought I'd try and start it up again. What is your favorite scene from the two movies?

The Parc, where we see the romance developing between Aunt Rose and Uncle Jull. Everything in that part of the movie is so well done. Another part of the first film I love is basically the very begining were we see the province and the wonderfull score by vladimir Cosma playing.
for the second movie it has to be the final shot of augustine , it's so powerfull.

For the first film, I love the final scene where they are leaving the house and their holiday is over and it starts to rain. That is a really well done scene. I also like the scene where he says "With these four wings hanging from my bloody fists...I raised my father's glory to the sky..." Another good scene is at the beginning when Marcel is in class and his father is teaching him and tells him that he is proud of him. For the second movie, the final scene showing Augustine is very powerful and touching - thats the scene that stands out for me the most.

i agree with you on this oliver - esp where at the beginning of the park scene, it vaguely pauses for a moment!

my favourite scene is the lili and marcel sitting in the cave - ahhh it's like you can smell the rain. i love the scenes with his brother paul though - and of course the classroom 'le papa est si fier de son petit garcon!'

I've noticed that the forums for French movies are usually dead compared to American ones. Maybe it's a cultural thing.

I have too many favorite scenes to list, but one of my favorite ones is before they head to the hills, when they're in the shop in Marseille. The guy's charging them 50F for what's worth a lot less because that's what he owes his boss. The whole conversation's just surreal.

Another good one was in the constant conflicts between his father and his uncle over religion, and went something like this;

"You know, sometimes I wonder if the use of Latin in mass isn't meant to hide certain things from the faithful ignorant."
"Like magic spells for charlatans?"
"You said it, not me."

Keep flying, son. And watch that potty mouth!

i would have to say when they were hunting the bartavelles. my french class has this obsession with bartavelles after watching this movie in class.

My favorite scene is really early in the first movie when Marcel shows his father that he can read. Then Joseph writes a second sentence on the board and Marcel smiles and says, "Does that mean you like me?" That was adorable in ways I can't describe.

My favourite scenes are when Marcel take the cooking book to read lol the look on the mothers face is just so touching!

I'm not sure about favorite, but the funniest for me was how the father paraded along the streets with the dead birds and how all the people he met started to walk along with him, praising his hunting abilities. That was some show of warm hearted appreciation.
