303 Prospect Place

OK, I'm watching this movie for the trillionth time and this just occurred to me... Oda Mae gave Molly Willy Lopez's name and address. When Sam was killed, I'm sure that Molly gave a composite. When she (Molly) went to the police with Willy's info, I wonder why they didn't follow up on his address to see if the resident matched the composite? If she had just gone to the police and said she got a tip about the man that killed Sam instead of talking about Oda Mae, I think they would have caught Willy. Then again, there would be no movie!! LOL

Could they really knock on a man's door and say, "A psychic told a woman that you live here, and that YOU are the one who killed her boyfriend. So, did you?"

reply

Not likely. But following up on a tip doesn't have to involve so many words. They could have just staked out the place to see if Willy matched a composite. Just a theory.

Molly was in fear for her life with the gun pointed at her. That, and the shock of Sam's death may have meant her details were unreliable. But the fact that she just mentioned a psychic meant they didn't even check any reports she filed about the shooting, especially since he has no record.
