OK cool, didn't know about the petition but now that I do I will take action. I loved USA Up All Night. I would watch it on weekends when I was in highschool.

reply

That is great to hear that you shall take action and help bet USA UP ALL NIGHT back on once again by taking action. Yeah I watched USA UP ALL NIGHT all through high school, college and until they removed the show back in December of 1998 I believe it was when they removed the show.

I would love to see it back on again. I miss it a lot!

Well yes, I would really like to see Gilbert Godfred back on as host. Rhonda Sheer was good too although a bit annoying at times but they could bring her back too. And we could see some new hosts as well. I still have some old VHS tapes that I used to tape some of the USA Up All Night movies with, complete with the hosts and all.

reply

I would not mind seeing both Gilbert Gottfried and Rhonda Shear hosting USA UP ALL NIGHT. I think it would be great to see them both again late at night on the weekends. USA UP ALL NIGHT originally just started out with Gilbert Gottfried and then in 1990 I believe it was they had a female host by the name of Caroline Schlitt who they replaced with Rhonda Shear in December of 1991 I believe it was.

Caroline Schlitt was a very good host and I enjoyed watching her. Rhonda Shear I adjusted to and started to like late at night on Friday nights. I hope they do bring this back because I would love to watch it once again on the weekends.

Well I will now have to dig up my old VHS tapes and relive the memories.

Sorry it took me so long to reply but I do not have my computer set up where I am living at now and I am currently using the public libraries computer to check all of my email.

I do not like that I have to use the public libraries computers to check all of my emails but there is nothing that I can do about it right now. That is why it took me so long to reply to what you have posted.

That is totally sad that you have to dig up your old VHS copy of USA UP ALL NIGHT just to catch a glimpse of Getting Lucky to relive the fond memories that we all had about USA UP ALL NIGHT. Those were the days when the weekends had programming that was a lot more entertaining compared to todays programming I hate to say it but it is very true you know.

Well I just got Getting Lucky on DVD off of Amazon so I don't have to watch some old VHS recording of it. Lots of those good old flicks that aired on programs such as USA Up All Night, you can find them on DVD from sources such as Ebay and Amazon. As a matter of fact, Im quite sure I never even recorded Getting Lucky on VHS when it aired on USA Up All Night although there is lots of other stuff on USA Up All Night that I did record on VHS. Time to relive the memories.

That is great to hear that you just purchased Getting Lucky on DVD from Amazon! I have been doing that as well is buying a lot of the movies that I saw on USA UP ALL NIGHT from Amazon if they have it on DVD. If they do not and all they have is VHS form I still buy it anyways to bring back the memories of watching USA UP ALL NIGHT.

It still does not feel the same without hearing Caroline Schlitt host the show on a Friday night or her replacement which I grew to love as a Friday night host Rhonda Shear. Another person that I want to bring up that I miss seeing hosting is Gilbert Gottfried. It was great in those days to spend the weekends late at night watching a lot of the movies that they would show on the weekends.

Gilbert Gottfried sure was hillarious, when I first saw USA Up All Night which was in 1990 I remember Gottfried was the first host that I saw so as far as I know he is the original host, if there was a host before him I am unaware of that. I do remember he was there before Rhonda or any of the other 90s hosts. This one time he was hosting, he had to go to the bathroom really badly but he couldn't because there was this woman who had decided to hang out in the men's room, she even followed him into the toilet stall. Had I been in a situation like that I would've gone to the bathroom right in front of her, if she doesn't want to see it than its her fault for being in the men's room. Anyway, Ive got some other great movies from USA Up All Night on DVD such as Moving Violations and Private Resort. Most of what was aired on USA Up All Night were those Z grade indie films, but they were great little flicks nonetheless. Im thinking, if USA Up All Night was airing today they would probably show the American Pie movies and perhaps the Fired Up cheerleader movie.

Yes Gilbert Gottfried was hilarious when he hosted USA UP ALL NIGHT back in the day. I first started to watch USA UP ALL NIGHT was in the late 80's. Yes you are very correct on Gilbert Gottfried being the original host of USA UP ALL NIGHT. They then added a female host to Friday nights called Caroline Schlitt in 1990. Ms. Schlitt remained on the show until around December of 1990 or 1991 and then that is when the beautiful Rhonda Shear replaced her for the rest of the time that USA UP ALL NIGHT was on Friday and Saturday nights for 12 years until December of 1998 when USA Network decided to get rid of USA UP ALL NIGHT.

In my honest opinion it was stupid of USA Network to get rid of USA UP ALL NIGHT for 4 years and then turn around and bring it back in 2002. I do not remember USA UP ALL NIGHT airing at all in 2002 and it was hosted by a Caroline Barba. I think I do remember watching that episode and that was hilarious too. I know what you mean about that because if I was in that same situation and some female did not want to leave the mens bathroom I would just pull out my cock and go to the bathroom. If she liked what she saw then we could always do more if you know what I mean? LOL That is cool that you have some of the great movies from USA UP ALL NIGHT DVD. I wish that I was smart enough back then to record the show when it was on so that I could watch it now on the weekends. Moving Violations and Private Resort is pretty cool movies to watch. That is what I loved about USA UP ALL NIGHT was that they would show some movies that are Z grade inde films. That is why I watched it every Friday and Saturday nights for were for those films.

If USA UP ALL NIGHT did come back on they would have to mix in a little of the original programming with todays movies like you said American Pie movies and Fired Up because I would have to say that they would have to hit the original fans of USA UP ALL NIGHT to keep them interested and for the new fans the much newer movies. I think that would work to be honest with you. What do you think about that?

I definately think that USA Up All Night would have to have the old classics as well as some of the newer movies. I remember watching USA Up All Night this one time around Halloween and they played this old Frankenstien movie that was in black and white, so it was way before my time. Lots of the movies that showed on USA Up All Night are now available on DVD such as the great little flick Getting Lucky. Now that I got Getting Lucky, Moving Violations, and Private Resort on DVD and I do have Miracle Beach on VHS because I did happen to record that on USA UP All Night, my next goal is to get the movie Ski Patrol on DVD. According to Gilbert Godfried, Ski Patrol aired on USA Up All Night some 115 times, or something like that. Getting the movies on DVD is in some ways better than seeing them on USA Up All Night, aside from often being digitally remastered the movies also are not edited out the way they often edit out stuff such as profanity when it shows on USA Up All Night. The downside is that with the DVDs you don't get all the great commentary that you would on USA Up All Night during commercials.

Anyway, as smart as I was to record some of the stuff on USA Up All Night, I was not smart enough to record "Getting Lucky." I remember seeing it for the first time back in 1995 when it happened to be airing on USA Up All Night, it was early in the year and I think it might've been around St. Patrick's Day. It is a great movie for St. Patrick's Day which happens to be today so Happy St. Patrick's Day. As I said though, I was not smart enough to record it when it came on USA Up All Night some 14 years ago, so all that time the movie just stayed in the back of my mind until just recently when I got it on DVD and I was able to watch it once again. When I did first see the movie on USA Up All Night, for some reason, the movie really made an impact on my mind. Krissy the cheerleader really got to me, she was terrific. I remember even after seeing the movie on USA Up All Night, the next day or so, when I went to work at the restaurant that I was working at, I asked one of the girls there if she ever went by "Krissy," her full name was Christine or Christy or something like that. Anyway, she said that yes, she sometimes did go by, "Krissy." The movie influenced me so much that I started to write a story that took place in a resort and that had a cheerleader in it with the name Krissy. Unfortunately the computer hard drive that it was stored in, we got rid of it and I didn't transfer it so if I ever do write the story I will have to start from scratch. I think I will start to write it again though. As it is though, Krissy for some reason sounds like a perfect name for a cheerleader. Krissy the cheerleader, it hits right home.

While the ending of Getting Lucky was a good ending, I did make a post about how it could be even better. I really do think it would've been a great idea to use what I suggest as an add on to the ending which I explain in the other post. Anyway, Happy St Patricks Day and I am off to see Getting Lucky again tonight for the holiday.

Yes if USA UP ALL NIGHT came back today it would definitely have to have the classics on late Friday and Saturday nights mixing in with some of todays movies. That is cool that they played a old classic that was black and white of Frankenstein. I always remembered Halloween that they would show like a marathon on USA Network of the Jason movies from Friday The 13th, Nightmare On Elm Street, or any of the other classic horror movies that we only see shown once a year around Halloween. That is why I miss the old programming of USA Network because they would show at anytime of the year horror movies and now they do not do that at all anymore. Yes like you said a lot of the movies that were shown on USA UP ALL NIGHT can be viewed on DVD or VHS if it did not come out on DVD at all. Like you also stated the sad thing about it is that we do not get to listen to Rhonda Shear or Gilbert Gottfried talk about the movies which made it very interesting a hilarious to watch because they would do some great things in between the movie and commercial breaks.

Yes I remember when Getting Lucky appeared in 1995 because I was at home that night when the movie first aired. That movie always stuck in my head as well. It was a great movie to watch. That is great that the movie made an impact on your life. You know who you have to thank for that don't you? You have to thank USA Network for creating such a show like USA UP ALL NIGHT and USA UP ALL NIGHT airing late on Friday and Saturday nights as well. I miss USA UP ALL NIGHT a lot and wished it had continued on because I feel just like Monday Night RAW is a staple mark to USA Network so was USA UP ALL NIGHT as well. I was shocked to see in 2001 or 2002 that WWE Monday Night RAW went to SPIKE TV for a couple of years or so and then returned back to USA Network. I honestly think that NBC realized that due to WWE Monday Night RAW was not on USA Network anymore the ratings slumped I believe. That is why you saw them get it back on the USA Network again. If that can happen then why can't USA UP ALL NIGHT come back as well?

I am glad that you wrote a movie script having to do with Getting Lucky and a girl that you met named Christina at that restaurant and you wrote a cheerleader in that character. That is totally cool to hear about guy. I am sorry to hear that you no longer have the original script that you wrote and will have to rewrite it again. I am glad to hear that some of the movies were great memories for you from USA UP ALL NIGHT.

Well yes they did have the classic Freddy and Jason movies around Halloween time as well as the Halloween classics with Jamie Lee Curtis. I really did like the commentaries that Gilbert and Rhonda did during commercials, its sorta like Beavis and Butthead giving their commentaries on rock videos. I also remember that Rhonda liked to squash grapes with her feet sometimes, people sure liked to do unique and original stuff on USA Up All Night. The 90s rocked, as did the 80s, and the 2000s rock too in their own way although I do wish they would bring back some of the 80s and 90s stuff in this decade. Getting Lucky technically would be a 90s movie since it was released in 1990, but it is turn of the decade so it would be very 80s, which it was. And besides, from what I do know about movies, a movie is filmed a year or so before it is released. The 80s had some really hot girls such as Lezlie (the girl that played Krissy.) Nowdays you still got some really hot girls such as Kristen Stewart (another Krissy) but it wasn't like it was in the 80s.

I definately do owe USA Up All Night some thanks, it did play a big role during my teenage years as I would watch it just about every weekend. USA Up All Night was one of those things that made my teenage years rock. Nowdays I don't watch much television so I get the movies I want to see on DVD, thanks to Ebay and Amazon, or in some cases Walmart. I wish they had Ebay and Amazon back in the 90s and that the internet was more advanced then, that way I could get movies I really liked from USA Up All Night if I didn't happen to record it.

Anyway, aside from the Getting Lucky DVD, I would like them to release a movie soundtrack as well. The movie had some really great music, I really liked their songs "Boy Are You Ready" and "It Fits Like A Glove," sometimes I will rewatch certain scenes where they play those songs just to hear the music.

What I was writing was not a movie script but a story, I have more talent for writing stories than I do for movie scripts. The story was not to be based on, or really have much of anything to do with the movie Getting Lucky, I was just going to have a cheerleader character with the name Krissy although it would be a different Krissy than the one in Getting Lucky, although I was much influenced by her.

Anyway, I did make another post on this message board where I talk about how the ending could be improved. Any critique of my idea would be most welcome. After all, with my idea, it would spice up the movie even more.

Yes that was back in the day when USA Network was a lot better than what it is now because USA Network will not show cult classic horror movies like this anymore now. Yes and even when USA UP ALL NIGHT would show these movies it was great to hear Rhonda Shear and Gilbert Gottfried do great commentary. I am sorry it took me so long to reply to your post but I am going through my mailbox guy. Yes great point about like Beavis and Butthead making comments about rock videos! That is so true man! Yes people did like to do unique things on USA UP ALL NIGHT! I will not forget when Rhonda Shear was hosting on a Friday night and had Penn and Teller on USA UP ALL NIGHT! They were trying to show Rhonda how to have a razor blade in her mouth and do the trick that Penn could do. Yeah I know what you mean about the 80's, 90's and 2000's are awesome! They do have some great stuff like you said! They should bring back some of the 80's and 90's back today guy. I agree with you there on that! You are correct about Getting Lucky would be like a turn of the decade since it did have some of the things from the 80's but came out in 1990. I know what you mean about a lot of hot looking women in the 80's! Today they are still hot but do not have the thing like the women of the 80's.

Yes I would have to agree with you there on that because if it was not for USA UP ALL NIGHT then I would not have memories of great movies like they would show! I loved watching USA UP ALL NIGHT every weekend as well! I know what you mean about getting movies from USA UP ALL NIGHT and how it is a shame that they did not have what we have now.

Yes that did have a great soundtrack. It is a shame that they did not release it out on tape or cd back then. Oh ok that is cool about your script that you were going to write about. Ok I will have to check it out guy. Thanks for letting me know about it!
