I was surprised that Troma made this movie!

When I sat down to watch this movie for the first time in I do not know how many years I was surprised that Tromaville had created it because Lloyd Kaufman was doing the introduction to this film.

This was different from the usual Tromaville movies that have been made. I love those movies too! I remember watching this on USA UP ALL NIGHT and Lloyd Kaufman brings that up as well which was great!

I am sure it brought back memories to all of the USA UP ALL NIGHT fans out there that rent this movie to watch from Netflix, their local video store, or if they purchased the DVD of "Getting Lucky".

It is a shame that Lloyd Kaufman did not place the website that I have to help promote USA UP ALL NIGHT and get it back on. That would have been nice to see done.

Troma also just distributes movies too. Like Trey Parkers Cannibal the Musical which was bought from Troma.

That is cool to hear that they are doing other things as well. It helps their company to grow. Well USA UP ALL NIGHT I heard also wanted a lot of these movie companies to be creating movies for them to show because they were running out of films to show from what I understand.

Well Troma is an independant company so they don't have the huge budget that the big companies such as Paramount or 20th Century Fox so their movies are not going to be shown on the big screen and from what I know, Getting Lucky was not even shown in indy theatres, it went straight to VHS when it was made (they didn't have DVD back in those days). USA Up All Night was one of the few places on Television where you could hope to see Getting Lucky. USA Up All Night, although from time to time they did show a very big and successful movie (such as the Jason movies which they would often show around Halloween), most of their movies were second rate with not so talented actors. Still, I thought it was a great program and USA Up All Night was really fun to watch during my teenage years. It would be great to bring it back and if they do it would be great if Gilbert Gottfried could host it as he did when it aired. I don't know what he is doing now but he was great on USA Up All Night.

Yes I understand that Troma is a independant company and they do not have the huge budget like you have mentioned about other film companies. I sort of figured that Getting Lucky was not shown at a movie theater but like you said it went directly to VHS tape back in the early 90's. Yes USA UP ALL NIGHT was one of the few places other than Monster Vision as well that showed films that were low budget. You also have to remember other classic horror movies that were shown on USA UP ALL NIGHT as well was Halloween, Nightmare On Elm Street, and Prom Night as well. I am sure there were other classic horror films that were popular and big shown on USA UP ALL NIGHT. Yes I would love to see Gilbert Gottfried as well hosting USA UP ALL NIGHT because he was the original host of USA UP ALL NIGHT when USA Network first developed that program and then added a female host who was Caroline Schlitt in 1990. It was not until almost 1991 when Rhonda Shear appeared as the new female host. I remember I think it was December of 1990 that she made her first appearance as the new host of USA UP ALL NIGHT. I think Gilbert is doing the AFLAC commercials right now as the duck to be honest with you.

So what conventions do you go to? I usually go to local conventions in NJ although I sometimes go to Virginia conventions and I once went to Oklahoma for a science fiction convention. Troma has been at a bunch of the conventions that I've been at.

Well in March of 2011 I went to a Horror Hound convention. Then I spoke with a very good friend of Kane Hodder who I have become friends with and he asked me if I was attending the horror movie convention down in Kentucky or Tennesee last year? I would have loved to have gone, but money became very tight with me. I met Lloyd Kaufman last year at Horror Hound. The reason why Troma goes to a lot of conventions is to sell their films. That is mentioned in a DVD that I bought from Troma called "How To Make Your Own Damn Movie!" It was very good and Lloyd Kaufman mentions the only way to get your movie out there is by attending conventions to sell them.
