At the start of A Cat in the Brain, the name of the film, shown in parentheses, is preceded by its alternate, international title: Nightmare Concert. Though the distribution renaming was unnecessary to begin with, this musical allusion concerning Lucio Fulci’s self-consciously splatterific 1990 release is not without some significance.
