Gene Wilder is good, but miscast

I think the movie does have its moments and Gene Wilder is good in it. I think he was miscast though. The role of Duffy needed to be played by someone like Jack Nicholson or maybe even Steve Martin. I think that Gene Wilder was such a likeable, loveable guy that we don't want to see him as a jerk or sleeping with younger women and all. So I can see why audiences didn't connect with the movie.
