A slow moving, uninteresting film

I love films. All sorts of films. But this is one that I've tried to watch several times (it's on tv again, as I try to watch....again), but it just doesn't hold my interest.

I'm not sure if it's the plot or the script (usually it's the script), but I just don't care about the characters or the plot. Part of the problem may be Broderick. He is not an interesting actor. I'm puzzled how he's made it this far with that little talent. It's not that he's bad. It's that he's mediocre.

I read that Robert Downey Jr. was asked to do the role, but he passed. Downey Jr would have been much better.

It's also disconcerting to know that Brando made the film for money only, and he was capitalizing off The Godfathers in his character, which I find a little scuzzy.

It's not a bad film. Just not a good one. I don't think I'll try to watch it any more, and will change the channel at this point and give up.

You do realize that Brando enjoyed doing comedies, do you not ? In his later years he did several. Broderick is perfect for this role, also the cameos are priceless.

It's a shame you couldn't enjoy it.

The issues you've started are exclusive to you. This film and Mr. Broderick are just fine IMO.
