Flight of the Intruder Filming Locations

I just visited Kauai and saw several Flight of the Intruder filming sites.

1. PMRF Barking sands was used for the O'Club scene, the builing is now a rental cottage for O-6s and up.

2. Historic Hanepepe Town was the site for the Tailhook Bar. It was also the site for the movie The Thornbirds and as a location for the Lilo and Stitch animators.

3. The shootdown meadow is located near the Jurrasic Park gates and was filed on the same site as the Jurrasic Park welcoming center. The area is complete wilderness.

4. A few parts off the jeep used to escape from the Tailhook Bar (which was also used in Jurrasic Park) are on display at Hawaii Movie Tours, which offers a tour that includes a stop at the Jurrassic Park gates.

They should have filmed it at Subic Bay and Olongapo. :-)

The only part that really looked like the PO is the camera angle looking across $hit river into town. I was there numerous times but they didn't have the Chain link fence that close to the water when I was there. During the Vietnam war there surely would have been another fence closer to the water like in the movie.

The Filipino family sure looked real. They must have dredged them up in a Hawaii casting call.

If there's a way to screw something up, the "O'Commie regime" will find it EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Only 341 more days!!!
