Nope! The original is a cinematic milestone that transends life and death eros and thanatos. Schumacher and the cast did an excellent job showing us the possibilities beyond good and evil, in a very Sartre/Nietzsche like way where you may go what you hold on to passion, lust, guilt, happiness, wrath, etc... making peace with you past demons and moving forward to you final destination, heaven, hell, purgatory, limbo, the land of shadows, etc... infinite choices. They did it justice with archetypal and gothic imagery and red lighting. I do not believe that a remake, reboot, reworking, rehash, reprogram whatever euphemism you like will suffice. They will gloss over and candy color the true meaning and depth of the film by replacing it with steal CGI laden effects, cheap jump scares, a sanitized PG-13 rating and the scariest thing of all Ellen Page. Hopefully Diablo Cody is not involved because sitting through Juno once was torture enough so I'll take a pass on this one and hope that if anything good comes out this hot mess, it will be a proper special edition release of the orignial.
