Mine is when Maggie is making Buckner watch the home movie of his birthday party and he starts crying. I love the music while the movie is playing and I love the way it tugs at your heartstrings, especially when Huey says "what do you think he's wishing for?" and Maggie says "I don't know, but I hope he gets it."
Definitely watching "baby John Buckner". That kid was so cute I cried when it was his birthday and he hugged and kissed mum and dad. Watching Kiefer cry was also awesome. Those tears looked like he was thinking about something real to me. Didn't look like "acty" tears.
Roman Polanski: The original five foot pole you don't want to touch anyone with.
I love that scene. I first watched it with my father and at that point we were both secretly crying. I couldn't help it, I couldn't even think about it for the next week without crying! It really made me feel. I dont even usually cry during movies! It's rare for me to say this, but, this movie holds a special place in my heart.
I like the two drunk idiots (Michael McKean and Richard Masur) who kidnap Huey - at one stage one of them says, "We better keep drinking otherwise we'll never go through with this."
When Huwie tells one of the old hippies "It takes more than going to the video store and renting Easy Rider to be a rebel." One of them says "Hey! I OWN Easy Rider!"
Near the end of the movie Buckner yells "RUNNING OUT OF TIME!" which is something that Jack Bauer yells all the time on 24. I saw the movie for the first time today and nearly spit my soda out of my mouth when I heard it.
For me, it has to be when Buckner was shot and Huey was trying to help him at the end. He didnt care about the Feds...he just wanted the kid to be "ok". He always cared but he did some growing up himself a few times. I especially admired when he came clean about being a rebel. "Ive been on the run for 20 years man and it sucks, man!"
"Freedom and morality do not go hand in hand. In fact, they are usually devoid of one another."
I love the home movies, and when the Maggie character drives the bus. I also liked any scene that involved Richard Masur's Barry character and Michael McKean's Hal character. I basically love everything about this film.
