Most effective jump scare ever in a movie?

That's what the Parents' Guide says. Can anyone tell me which scene that is supposed to be?

The nurse/hallway scene. An almost unbroken long shot of a hospital hallway and a nurse doing her rounds when, unexpectedly

a cloth-shrouded figure runs out with a decapitating pair of surgical shears

Interesting. I'll have to see it.

Hope you come back and let us know what you thought of it...hope I didn't wreck it for you though.

You didn't at all! Still a very effective and scary scene! Well done.

Yes!!! I remember watching this on vhs in 1992 when u was 15 after renting it. I was dozing off in the couch and then all of a sudden this scene happens and i was wide wide awake.

Your mileage may very - it was the scariest thing I've ever seen in a movie. I saw it in a packed theater and it was largest scream I'd ever heard from an audience too.

Yeah, it's a total jump scare, perfectly set up. Congrats on viewing it along with an appreciative audience.
