I really enjoy the whole movie. But, some of my favorite scenes would be when Nash breaks Mr. Pindlesmith's Golf trophy, when Ernest is sitting on death row and gives that monolouge to say, that hes "Ready!". Those are some of my favorite scenes. I also enjoy the song in the beginning "Doing Time" thats a cool song. What a good movie!

My favorite scene is when they are about to take Ernest to the electric chair and they ask if he wants a blindfold or a cigarette and he say,"No thanks! I'm afraid of the dark and cigarettes will kill ya!"

Favorite scenes...

The opening song

The part where the floor cleaner goes crazy and takes Ernest with it

When we first see what Ernest's house looks like from the inside, now that looked like a fun house

When Ernest first goes around the prison still thinking it's a field trip

When Ernest is trying to get out of jail (repeatedly) and failing (repeatedly)

And from where Ernest finds out he's on death row straight to the ending, I especially like that whole part.

Auntie Nelda. She makes me laugh every time. She always tries to lay a big guilt trip on everyone she encounters, and enjoys her martyrdom.

She's hilarious in this movie, but my favorite Auntie Nelda moment of all time is from Jim Varney's tv show from the late 80's. Ernest proudly shows us a large sculpture he made from soap, and Auntie Nelda sarcastically intones, "Why don't you find a better use for the soap......like BATHING." Hilarious with Jim Varney's perfect timing.

Uhh...WHAT?

The part where Ernest realizes that he's in jail totally cracked me up or when Ernest was flying around with the electric mopper or when Ernest had ink all over himself at the courtroom

reply

The part where he breaks the pen and gets the ink all over and then he actually eats that peice of paper, funny as hell. I remember watching it for the first time and laughing so hard I was crying.

By far the funniest scene IMO, I can't believe nobody mentioned it yet

Ernest, Chuck and Bobby are all eating breakfast at Chuck's house, Ernest is explaining how he feels honored to be able to choose a man's fate ("crush it, or let it go free")

There's a long pause..

Chuck then murmur's, "Burn him"

A gingerbread man pops out of the toaster and Bobby blows it to pieces with his gun causing Ernest to tremble in shock

Absolutely priceless, best scene in my mind

my favorite has to be when hes checking out the wiring on his dryer and gets electrocuted.
"oh i see there is a sh(zap and inintelligible noises)oorrrt in the circuit"

i kept rewinding and watching that part over and over.

"This isn't a field trip people...THIS IS A *beep* WAR!"

I crack every time I watch that scene.

The mirror scene when he is doing all those voices trying to find his 'Nash' voice.

Light the fuse, and run

I liked when Ernest flys up in the air at the bank taking the bomb with him and it blows up, when he comes crashing down into the bank and says ''I came, I saw, I got blowed up" then passes out

Ever since I was a kid, my favorite scene will always be the electric chair/escape sequence. Gotta love Ernest as "Electro Man", especially the way he says it. Also, the Auntie Nelda scene. Classic. The scene when he tries to become Nash, doing Cagney and Stallone impressions.

Hey how could nobody mention the part where Ernest being mistaken for Nash is given his last bit of action before his execution. I didn't really understand it when I was a 7 year old kid since they just led Ernest into a red flourecent room and a scantily clad lady was waiting for him on some sort of bed or couch. Then all you hear is Ernest screaming. It's been 20 years since I've seen this movie and I've always remembered that great part.

I've got a lot of favorite scenes [the pen in the courtroom, the mine field, Auntie Nelda, the impressions, etc.], but one of my favorite moments from the movie wasn't a funny one at all.

It was the first reveal of Nash, revealing to me that Jim could play such an evil character. Gave me chills as a kid...

"Yeah...I'm a real big fan of the early release program...(evil laughter)"

The scene when ernest comes back home and realizes what happened to his house. A.K.A. my signature
