Are there actually people who would discuss or argue about this movie? This isn't Gone with the Wind, it's friggin' Don't Tell her it's Me for Christ's sake!!!!! I can't admit to ever seeing the movie, but years ago I was in the theatre, and this was one of the trailers shown. The audience sat silent, open-mouthed, and wide eyed throughout the clip. When it was over, people laughed harder than I've ever seen....EVER! My buddy and I were swearing that we would go as soon as it came out, it never did. This was one of those straight to video (or the airlines) type of film. When it came out, Guttenbergs' career was dead. Shelly long's career was dead. Jamie Gertz' career was, you guessed it, DEAD! All this movie did was apply a defibrillator, resuscitate, and officially kill their stardom for good. Oh, and how about that name "Looobooo" Marunga. Accompany that with the sight of Mahoney in a mullet and that is well worth the price of admission.

This movie only deserves a blog to discuss how ironically funny it is, not arguments over which characters were immoral vs shallow or if deception to achieve attention is ok if they fall in love in the end.

It's pure fluff, but it's loads of fun, so...whatever...if you don't like it, fine. Guttenberg never had a career -- he was always a lightweight, one dimensional actor, kinda cute in a nice Jewish boy sort of way, but not really leading man material. Shelley Long happens to be very good at this sort of thing. I think she's great in it. Jamie Gertz, too, does a nice job. Not everything has to be some big, deadly-dull, heavy, overbearing, preachy piece of liberal propaganda, you know.

The book has a lot more depth and maybe some of the fans are filtering the movie through their experience with the book. Sarah Bird is a pretty respected writer and continues to turn out excellent literary fiction as well as a regular column in Texas Monthly.

I was younger when this movie aired on HBO and enjoyed it. Just finish watch Santa seeks Ms Claus wasn't think much of it decorating for the holidays and playing of course movies. Gave the movie and try, yes it's cutesty but I enjoyed the movie. Witch made me think of this movie, couldn't remember the name. And whats great about a movie like this it just shows you how shallow humans are, in a comic way.

Shelley Long is the reason I watched this movie. I've watched it about 6 times. I think it's really funny, there are some great scenes, the comedic talent of Shelley Long and Jami Gertz make the movie. Piglet and her dad are also really good!
