Use of "Finlandia" in Film Score

It took me 30 years, but I just got it! Film composer Michael Kamen uses Jean Sibelius' "Finlandia" at the end of the movie, and in the closing credits. Why? The music is a love letter to Finland, which is the birthplace of the film's director, Renny Harlin.

Its also fitting because Kamen used Beethoven in the first movie. So there WAS a link to classical music from the very beginning.

reply

True. A nice touch Kamen made in his scoring.
