gen. taylor drunk or what?

is it just me,or did he seem freaky and weird and maybe wasted on something? seems he could barely deliver his lines, and when he was yelling over the noise of the chopper,he could barely get the words out...

he scared me..

for the record, who in their right mind would ever write the line -"he killed her husband, murdered her sick baby, used the babys body to smuggle drugs, then he raped her....try not to bring it up,she might be a little sensitive."- into a movie that wasnt a comedy? i mean ,the movie seems like a big joke, but JEEZ thats a messed up thing to say. only because it seemed like that was supposed to be a macho "everything is beneath us because we have big balls" kinda statement. i would expect something like that to be in hotshots, not a real action flick.

i still cringe when i picture gen. taylors face. yikes!!

Dude, repeat after me: It's only a movie. It's only a movie.

It's not real life.

To quote the good general... "Why don't you shut the **** up!"

Agree the General seemed to be having a wet dream the whole movie. Same when he's introducing the astronauts in "The Right Stuff" - I think it's just part of John P. Ryan's personality. It's like he's half way between taking a bong hit and doing a big satisfying crap in his pants. One of the most hilarious aspects of this movie.

Taylor seemed homosexual!

I'm a Republican, and thats my opinion on this matter.

I nearly died with laughter.

Loved the "high on life" general!:)

Him toying with Ernesto Flores (the foreign observer guy) make some of my favorite scenes.

This film was clearly a tongue-in-cheek B action movie (having plenty of colorful characters, the "so bad it's good" one-liners and ridiculous moments). The General was hilarious and a great addition to the cast. I felt he was an inch from blinking at the camera in every scene. He knew what kind of movie they were making, so he masterfully "chewed up" his "serious" army role and loved every crazy minute of it. :)

I would love to know how many times they had to reshoot scenes because he cracked himself up or made others on the set laugh out loud...

This movie is right inbetween Rambo 2 and Hot Shots 2.

btw
to add to the ridiculousness check out what you get when you type his name in wikipedia...

General Taylor seemed to be psychopath who got pleasure from the slaughtering. A truly messed up character which I downright hated. John P. Ryan sure wasn't Lee Marvin.

In Finland we have this thing called "reilu meininki"

I thought the General's part could have been written for Donald Sutherland. I liked him.

The line "he killed her husband, murdered her sick baby, used the baby's body to smuggle drugs, then he raped her" was sick, twisted and totally unnecessary. Clearly a plot device to ensure that we definitely had no sympathy for the 'baddie' (already a forgone conclusion) but it was a subtle as a brick it the face.

he was also touchy-feely, patting on everyone's back and holding his arm around others :) I'd like to think that John P Ryan is so over-the-top it's impossissible to hate him

He seemed high at the very least...
