Has anyone seen this? Recommendations?

Thinking of ordering this movie. Can't find it anywhere locally. Has anyone seen it and if so is it recommended? Thanks.

i've seen it twice.
Once on the high quality government TV station SBS in Australia and the other time as the Irish entrant in the 10th EU film festival (touring in Thailand)

I agree with the comment user marly makes on imdb (and i am male!).

Being polyamorous myself, the social/political point made in the film is dear to my heart. Check it: http://www.lovemore.com Unfortunately even almost a century later the attiudes in the most modern cities on this planet have not changed much compared to the small rural village in this film.

JUST watched this in my Northern Irish Cinema class at Portland State University (Oregon). It was good - odd but good. In the sense that it is set in turn of the century Northern Ireland, it is a film that it makes sense we saw in class. It has NOTHING to do with violence, the IRA, the British or anything of the sort near as I could tell. It is just a good, well-told story of an independent woman. Now on DVD! :)

I own the film on VHS (American release). There is no DVD that I know of. It really is an unusual story. I really cannot compare it to anything else. It is well worth the watching. Ciaran Hinds is particularly brooding in his role.

Actually, there is now a U.S. DVD version available.

I've recently been running through all of the Irish films at my university library. This is one of the best - unique story and beautifully filmed and told. Not the dreary IRA stuff, but not an entirely happy movie either. But I also loved "Five Minutes of Heaven", which is about the dreary IRA stuff.

Yes, very good film. I enjoy the deliberate pace.
