I just love what Stands with a Fist wears. All white with turquoise accents. Even the shoes/moccasins matched. Simply stunning. And the earrings! Gorgeous! And I thought it was really cute when the whole tribe watched them enter the tent as Lt Dunbar waves "Buh bye" to everyone all smiley like the cat who ate the canary. :)

Gorgeous. I love this scene too. I just saw it again this afternoon on the movie channel and Mary McDonnell is simply exquisite in this scene. I love the way they look at each other.

It is beautiful but was just for the movie. They did not have marriage ceremonies. Usually when a young man was interested he would be required to provide a dowry, the bigger the better. In the case of more than one suitor, the father would choose his daughter's "husband". Then the brave would simply take his woman to his shelter & they would try to create a family.
