Gas Station Scene

I remember when I was in Elementary school (early 90's) I kept hearing about this movie. Having a scene at the Gas Station across the street. In fact it was i the local paper. Does anyone know at which part this scene comes up. I think its a small scene where they pull up to this very old looking gas station.

I am watching it now and they were just at an old gas station about 12 minutes into the movie.

They pull into another gas station about 40 minutes into the movie. They are talking about the song Louie Louie.
