Charlie

What happened to Charlie; i wasn't able to see the whole end; the dad died, the older son died in battle, one sister got knocked uo and had a baby boy and the family was reunited.

but what happened to charlie? did he also die?

reply

If i remeber correctly, he opted to go back to Japan. He felt like his dad was such a traitor to his heritage. As Lily narrates, she says "He's never been to Japan." You see him get on the boat with a look of anxiety, fear, and rebellion on his face. That's pretty much what happens to him.

went to japan; hope he make its okay there.

A really bad choice on Charlie's part.

His country was not Japan, but America.

His family and Japanese Americans in general were treated illegally and shabbily by the U.S Government during the war.

However, Charlie had never been to Japan, didn't speak the language well, and would never find acceptance in the culture.

He was an angry kid who wanted to strike back at the injustice done to his family. In my opinion, he would come to find out that going to Japan was not the right move.

^^^I agree. I think he would soon regret making the move to Japan. Japanese society is very strict about anyone who doesn't conform to the norm. They are even more strict with fellow Japanese who are not Japanese enough as Charlie was.
