Another film on Kawashima Yoshiko...

Yoshiko Kawashima is also the main character in a film called LADY KARATE (1976), where she's played by Chia Ling. I found it on YouTube and watched it there and then reviewed it for IMDB. The other reviews on that page are for a film called LADY CONSTABLES, which has sometimes been erroneously identified as LADY KARATE. LADY KARATE, aka SPY RING AT KOKURYUKAI, focuses on one incident in Kawashima's history, when she was recruited to spirit Pu Yi, the so-called "Last Emperor," out of Tientsin and back to Manchuria. It adds various sword and gun fights that, I'm guessing, did not happen in real life. Kawashima is also a major character in the Tsui Hark-produced THE RAID (1991), which I've also reviewed on IMDB, and a supporting character (under the name Eastern Jewel) in Bertolucci's THE LAST EMPEROR (1987).
