China Lake is a *beep* hole

I just watched this movie to remind me how much China Lake is a piece of *beep* city.

I dont think it was actually shot there, but they are kinda similar in the way that they are both in the middle of no where and is inhabited by odd folks similar to the freaks from hills have eyes.

Any else find it weird that they completely left out the Naval presence there?
