What was up with the camera angles?

If you noticed in this part 2, a lot of the camera shots were extreme close up on characters faces and made them look kind of goofy. It was almost like watching a old Tim Burton film. I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this. I thought they were funny angles, but it wasn't like this in 1 & 3. Can we say different directors?

id say its because of Lafia and the DP Czapsky.
the film itself looks very made-for-tv. honestly if you took out Chucky from the film, it'd be no different than a Lifetime Channel drama.

Tom Holland who had a lot of control over the first film, was very particular about how to setup certain shots. so that film looks very cinematic.
