Will this ever come out on bluray? It was a pretty good sequel

Well, I like Child's play 1, 2 and 3. The last 2 were too comedic.

I'm eagerly awaiting the blu ray release. Im pretty sure it will out by 2013.

Yes, we need a special edition! It's sad to see my chubby Child's Play anniversary DVD next to the scrawny ones that are 2 and 3 :(

A blu ray set should hopefully come out in October when Curse of Chucky is released. I want them all together in blu ray dammit!

Child's Play 2 + 3 blurays will be released in April in Germany. they will be limited edition steelbooks.

here an excerpt from the site

"Recently we informed you that media-dealer.de got the exclusive rights for marketing for the cult horror movies „Chucky 2“ (USA 1990) and „Chucky 3“ (UK, USA 1991) from Universal Pictures. The retailer will release both movies uncut and limited to 6000 copies in steelbooks on April 1st 2013. They will be exclusive for media-dealer.de and they will not be reproduced afterwards. Furthermore aren't any follow-up products planned."

so they should be released on bluray in a lesser form in the US months later.

I've been waiting a long time for 2 and 3 to get released on bluray. Bride and Seed I can do without.

reply

yep. Bride and Seed are already on bluray. 2 and 3 on the other hand seem to be given the shaft. which is Universal's fault for having such a disinterest in catalog titles.

reply

I always check Bluray.com to see if/when a release date will come. There's cover-art for 3 but not 2 and neither film has a release date. I just prefer the Child's Play trilogy of 1-3 and never look any further than that.

reply

yea there hasnt been any news of a US release. if there was, it'd have been announced months before the street date.
yea the cover art on a lot of titles are just the movie poster and the bluray case mockup or these days its the combo pack label. so doesnt mean much of anything if a title gets cover art.

i prefer the original. 2+3 i got on DVD for dirt cheap, so i watch em once in a while but were never my favorites. Bride of Chucky is just fun to see and reminds me of the time of the late 90s.
Seed of Chucky is the one i find liking a little more with each viewing, but i dont revisit it often.

i guess for those with region free players can already own the entire series on bluray.

reply

I own the entire series on blu! ;-)
