Is the alternate opening real?

Someone said that they saw a different beginning where the Play Pal workers come in Karen and Andy's old apartment from the first film and acquire the burnt remains of Chucky. Is this opening real? They said it was only found on some of the early 1991 VHS rental tapes in the UK.
