30th Anniversary...

I remember hearing about the tragedy over the radio while eating breakfast, immediately I turned on the television and all the networks were covering the events as they unfolded -

Yes, today is the 30th anniversary of this, and I was going to start a thread about it, but since you started one I'll just join it. See my thread on this board titled "How did you hear about this" for how I did hear about it, but I remember those few days very well, and it really doesn't seem like it has been thirty years to me. I have thought about it most January 28ths since then, and was very aware this year that it would be the thirtieth anniversary, and then saw on Good Morning America this morning a segment acknowledging this and saying there would be events today observing this. I then looked in both my local paper and USA Today for stories on this, but was somewhat suprised that there were none. Still, I remember this day thirty years ago very well, and am glad there are events to observe this happening today.

Interestingly enough my friend's birthday is today, it's a shame this tragedy hangs over it like a dark cloud, like 9/11..
