DVD Release (Region 0)

I loved this film ever since it first aired on CBS in 1990. At one point in the mid-1990s, a few of the Hallmark Hall of Fame films were released on VHS. I never got the chance to own it then and could have kicked myself.

Recently, I bought a region-free Bluray player and one of my first purchases was the UK/Australian release of CAROLINE? on DVD. Much to my surprise, the DVD is Region 0 so it will play on Region 1 DVD/Bluray players.

Here's the link to purchase it from Amazon UK --

Interesting -It's on the US Amazon site, but with a specific disclaimer that it <won't> play on US/Region 1 players.

The VHS release can be had on Amazon as well. There was a laserdisc release, too, but that's almost as hard to find as a working laserdisc player.

I just can't understand why this hasn't had a DVD release in the US. It's such a great film!

One of my favourite television movies ever. Joseph Sargent is a great director and it was wonderful to see Dorothy McGuire in this superb drama.

I have a working laser disc player, but I'm hesitant to buy the plentiful laser discs available.

Love this film.
