Oh YEah

I remember watching this movie when I was younger and seeing the people from the wonder years on it. It was almost my all time favorite movie...man there were a lot of old teen stars in it and some rising ones too...does anyone else remember watching it?>

i loved this movie because urkel was a personal hero of mine (i was 12).i like the scene when they catch the fish with a pair of panty hose.i saw this movie the day before school started and it really gave me a good feeling i would make friends like these and everything would be all right

YesYesYes...I was 9 years old when I saw this movie and I remember thinking that it was THE coolest movie EVER. This is also the movie that planted the subconcious idea in my head of summer romance. Remember, I was 9. And I had forgotten all about it until I was looking Jennifer Aniston up for some random reason...The second I saw the name "Camp Cucamonga", the memory snapped into place.

Recipe for magic huh? Nice. Yeah, i loved this movie too, i taped it off tv and watched it over and over. The other day i was trying to find a movie i had on vhs and found the copy of camp cucamonga. I popped it in the vcr and it really showed it's 15 year old age.. and for some reason it didn't hold my interest as much as it did when i was 8.

Let 'em riot. We're Sonic *beep* death Monkey.

Vaguely. It was pretty much ABC's version of NBC's "Crash Course", but set in a summer camp instead of a driver's ed class. You've heard of "how many people can you fit in a phone booth?" This is "how many ABC child actors can you fit into one ABC TV movie." LOL! It was fun nonetheless.

I remember i used to watch this movie right at the beginning of the summer. I always tried to find it in the video store but I could never remember the name...How I spent my summer vacation or somthin like that. Anyways, damn its like every actor from every teen sitcom is in this movie. What a cast!

As much as I find it cheesy and predictable now, I loved this TV movie as a kid. I happened to come across it one September Saturday aftertoon. I had just a great time at camp that year and seeing this was like reliving those days, really helping kick the end-of-summer blues. I even remember calling every video store in town to see if anyone had a copy. Sadly they didn't. Nice to see other folks remember it and feel the same way.

reply

Yeah, I definitely remember watching this movie and liking it. I was ten when in came out and loved all the cool older teen stars in the movie. I didn't even realize until today that it was Jennifer Aniston in the movie! Obviously when I first saw it, she wasn't well known - the person I did remember from the movie was Candace Cameron. My good friend used to go to camp in the summer when we were little and I always wondered if it was like Camp Cucamunga.

Oh man, this movie is the best. My mom taped it off of TV in the early 90s, and seeing the old commercials is one of the best parts of the movie! I was the only kid on the block with a copy of Camp Cucamonga, so every time my friends came over they wanted to watch it. I swear I still know the lines. Camp Cucamonga is the place that's hip!

reply

Cucamonga!!! OH YEAH, Camp Cucamonga!!!

My names Dennis, I am a menance, when people look at me they always get jealous. Some people say that I'm uncool, but everybody knows that I tell the truth. I get curious, even furious, when people put us down, I can get injurious. So don't talk trash about our camp, Because we are here to say, that it's the champ!!! CUCAMONGA, OH YEAH, OH YEAH, CAMP CUCAMONGA

I haven't seen this movie in years, and still remember all that. I just ordered it off ebay, and can't wait to watch it again

Oh my god! Oh my god! I think i remember this! Did Candace Cameron dump her boyfriend at the big cookout/dance party/thingy at the end of the movie?
and she gave him all these big meaningful lines like "We used to have fireworks...but now the spark is gone" ???
I would have been 6 when this came out, so i'm probably wrong, but i love trying to piece together my childhood through cheesy movies :)

"Last year was fireworks, this is one's a fizzle."

reply

Thanks Tony :)
i really wanna see this again...

PS - just to further embarrass myself - when I was about 8 or 9 I wanted to be candace cameron. she was just so beautiful & cool, with her big hair and her big round face.
also I wanted to kiss fred savage (like, on the lips)

i *heart* my Shar-pei MoMo

reply

the fireworks to fizzle ratio was hilarious

Oh my god, I cannot believe that you remember that rap. This was my favorite movie (when I was nine) But I may have to search for it on the internet myself. I still have it on tape from when it was on tv. I cannot believe that it is from 17 years ago. God that is a long time.

reply

It was like that for me too!

I can't remember the rap, I only remember the "Cucamonga...oh yeah, oh yeah!"
