Robin Williams was GREAT in this movie

Yea the overall movie sucked (would have been much better if it was more realistic with the cops, not unlike Phone Booth), but I think Robin Williams proved once and for all he can act in this movie. I was seriously wondering why didn't he get an oscar for this when it was over.

cause a) he wasnt nominated for one
b)was a good thing he wasnt anyway...i mean ,come on..He was good like he always is,but it wasnt either an oscar performance, and even more wasnt an oscar role , "Joey O' Brien" 's ...

Actually he went from slap stick comic, to torn down father, to dramatic life savor. That range alone in this movie proved to me he deserved a nomination for this role. Maybe not an oscar, but a golden globe for sure.

I was never an immediate fan of this movie when it was first released especially after viewing the masterpiece of "Dead Poets Society" a year before, but over the years "Cadillac Man" has charmed me and I've noticed several more funny moments more so than I did first time around in 1990, and I can honestly say that I can appreciate the concept of this movie now and the overall performances of Robin and the supporting cast.

At the time, Robin grabbed the chance to make this movie as a kind of tribute to his late Father, Robert who had been a Ford Motor Company Executive for several years of his life.

I think I can say that I like this movie better than "Popeye" and "Club Paradise", and even though I have still yet to see "Hook" I will probably like it more than this one too. I think "Cadillac Man" has the makings to be a virtually unrecognised little GEM.

Couldn't agree more with Tony. I saw some of the movie when it was first released but it just didn't interest me. Years had passed before I watched it again and I ended up watching it over and over for months. lol Definitley alot of funny moments.

My favorite:
"Get down?" I'm get'n the **** outta here!
