but this movie is much better than its IMDB rating. The story is interesting and the acting is more than solid. Williams is his manic best as the fast talking salesman in over his head and Tim Robbins plays a great hostage-taking dumbass.

Also, Fran Dreschers' dog is excellent as the "dog."

AND!in the car she was hitting the poor little blighter and yelling 'shut-up!'...no animals were harmed during the making of this film...MY ARSE!

As to the OP's sobriety, I cannot say but yes this is an underrated movie.

How do the angels get to sleep when the Devil leaves his porchlight on?

I was surprised too. Good cast, a lot of larger than life characters and all the chaos and bizarreness of it all actually made me enjoy this movie quite a lot. 7/10 at the least.

Agreed. I love this movie and think it's hilarious and one of Williams' best comic roles.

I just watched this movie for the first time today, just finished it about 5 minutes ago. For a 1990 movie it's quite good. I really enjoyed this movie.
